Forced Action

The previous example you've just experienced is called Forced action.

- Forced action refers to a manipulative pattern that, once used, results in consequences similar to this: the user wants to do something, but they are required to do something else undesirable in return.

- In the previous example, when you're forced to subscribe to SMS updates, you'll start receiving a ton of promotional messages from the shopping store tempting you to spend more. Responding to these promotional SMS messages becomes a never-ending task that affects your online browsing experience and your shopping-related decision-making.

For your benefits, you may consider leave or report the websites that use similar Forced action.
